I read a ton of comic books, but I was scared because I didn’t know how to write one. One day I decided on the theme of werewolves and realized graphic novels were perfect for that. It was cruel and did a lot of damage to people. ![]() Culture in Piedmont is demanding of girls to be down to party and hookup, but not too much. It’s the only thing I consider my focus and like to choose the audience for a story I’m working on. I was a children’s and young adult bookseller for close to a decade, so I love those books. ![]() What’s made you experiment with different formats and audiences, and what was the inspiration behind Squad? ![]() You’ve previously published a picture book ( Also an Octopus ) and a young adult novel ( The Mermaid, The Witch and The Sea ).
